Summer Safari

Big kids, little kids, kids of all sizes enjoyed peeking,
pointing, spying, smelling and gasping at the variety of animals
and habitats during their trip to the Sunset Zoo. Since the RC
Parents as Teachers (PAT) program continues through the summer
months, we had the opportunity for a warm and sunny summer day for
the annual zoo outing in Manhattan. What opportunities to
talk about different sorts of things than those we see every
day...'look at those pink feathers! He's standing on one
foot! My what a long tail and so strong! Can you hang
upside down like that?' What a delightful morning and we
ended with a picnic lunch and a little climbing
time before heading home. Look for our next zoo trip next
spring or early summer. Better yet, don't wait, take your
family to the zoo some beautiful fall day for a safari, too.
