Tasty Learning

The kindergartners at St. George elementary recently got hands on experience learning their three dimensional shapes.
Each child got different snacks and had to sort and classify them as well as count and graph the number of shapes they had.
In the past the classes have only had to identify flat shapes but the three dimensional shapes were added to their lessons to prepare them for the upper grades where these shapes are used often in everyday math lessons and on state assessments.
Maddie (pictured above) in Mrs. Gehrt’s class commented, “These are the yummiest shapes I’ve ever had.”
