SGES Kicks Off Week Long Celebration of Reading

Students at St. George Elementary School got a special treat Monday morning when the Cat in the Hat himself showed up to read and helped kick-off Read Across America Week. Read Across America is an annual celebration that takes place on or around March 2, the birthday of Dr. Seuss. Each day we will feature a different Dr.
Seuss book in honor of the well-known author's birthday. Students are asked to dress in the color of the book. If they wear the book color to school each day their name will be entered into a drawing and they will have a chance to win that book. At the end of the day Mrs. Willi or Ms. Edwards will draw one lucky winner.The featured books are:
Monday,
March 3-
The Cat in the Hat
Students
can wear red, white, and black.
Tuesday,
March 4 -
Green Eggs and Ham/Yertle the Turtle
Students
can wear green
Wednesday,
March 5-
Horton Hears a Who/Horton Hatches the Egg
Students
can wear gray.
Thursday,
March 6-
One fish two fish red fish blue fish
Students
can wear red and blue.
Friday,
March 7 -
Dress as you favorite book character!
This
can be from any book it doesn't
have
to be a Dr. Seuss book.
