Rock Creek High School is ready to “CASH” in on 2008 Homecoming

      The Student Council of Rock Creek High School has selected a Johnny Cash theme for this year's homecoming festivities.  Students will kick off Homecoming week on September 22 with Spirit week.  Students are encouraged to show their school spirit by dressing up to the following themes: Monday-- Retro Diva Day, Tuesday-- Mismatch Day, Wednesday-- Injury Day, Thursday-- Hick Day, Friday-- Man in Black (& White) Day (Hats & Sunglasses). 
    The annual Homecoming parade will take place in St. George beginning at 2:00 pm.  The parade route will begin at Grant and First Street, heading west on First Street, and conclude at the new St. George Elementary School.  Included in this year’s parade will be class floats constructed around a Johnny Cash song.
    Seniors:  Ring of Fire
    Juniors:  Man in Black
    Sophomores:  Falcon Prison Blues
    Freshman:  The Black Mobile
    There will also be a New St. George Elementary School parade along Blackjack Road.  Students will head their wagons west with their remaining school supplies to move into the new St. George Elementary School at 200 Blackjack Road.
    The cheerleading staff will be hosting a Pep Rally at the New St. George Elementary School parking lot.  RCHS Marching Band and cheerleaders will be creating an exciting atmosphere for Mustang fans as they prepare for the football game.
    Homecoming Royalty will be crowned during half time of the football game on September 26.  Kickoff for the football game is 7:00 pm with the Mustangs taking on their Mid-East League rival Riley County.  Tickets are $4.00 for adults and $3.00 for K-12 students.  This year’s homecoming Queen Candidates are Dana Elliot, Kortney Campbell and Courtney Stillwagon, King Candidates are Dustin Miner, Matt Gee and Logan Lauer.
    The celebration of homecoming week will conclude with the homecoming dance.  This year’s homecoming dance is themed after the Heidi Newfield song: Johnny and June.
