Each year, the Governor’s Achievement Award is bestowed upon a small number of schools for scoring in the top 5% of both reading and mathematics. Having one school receive the Governor’s Achievement Award is a huge honor. This year, that prestigious award has been given to all three of our schools!
Qualifying schools must also achieve the Standard of Excellence in both reading and math. This year, we achieved that standard on every math and reading test we took. Around the state, only forty-four elementary schools, twelve middle/junior high schools, and eighteen high schools qualified for the award.
The recognition for these awards goes to the students, teachers, and principals for their tremendous work and to the USD 323 Board of Education for their constant support of school district endeavors. These awards are one more indication to our patrons that the children of Rock Creek USD 323 receive the best possible education.
The school board will officially present the awards to the building principals during the December 10th board meeting at RCJSHS. The staff members from each building are invited to attend.
Congratulations to the educators and students of Westmoreland Elementary School, St. George Elementary School, and Rock Creek Junior/Senior High School for this outstanding accomplishment!
