Becky Lightfoot - KMAN & McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week
February 19, 2010
Some basketball players don’t realize there’s any other column on a stat sheet than points. Rock Creek’s Becky Lightfoot is one of the rare players who fill up nearly every statistical column.
Lightfoot is averaging 10.2 points, 11.4 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 3.8 steals, and 2.5 blocks per game. She also shoots a blistering 64.9% from the field. Lightfoot leads the undefeated Mustangs in all of those categories except for scoring, where she is second.
This past Friday night, Lightfoot set a Rock Creek record by grabbing 22 rebounds in a 45-26 victory over St. Mary’s to go with her 12 points, 6 steals and 2 blocked shots. She also had 10 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals, and 3 blocked shots in a 56-36 win over Marysville last Tuesday.
Lightfoot registered the first triple-double in school history earlier this season when she had 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 steals, plus 7 blocked shots in a 49-29 win over Centralia. She was also named the Dickinson County Classic MVP and was named to the all-Hiawatha Tournament team.
Congratulations to Becky Lightfoot of Rock Creek, our McDonald’s/KMAN “Student-Athlete of the Week!”
