Counselor Notes: Seniors planning to attend Kansas State University who are interested in study abroad opportunities should contact Mr. Sullivan for more information/scholarship prospects.

 

Seniors with a minimum 24 ACT score and 3.0 cumulative gpa, who are are planning to attend Washburn University, may be interested in applying for the 2018 Washburn Leadership Scholarships ($500 - $2,000 / deadline – 12/01/17).  See Mr. Sullivan for more info/applications or visit www.washburn.edu/leadership.

 

News of the Day:

 

Please remember to remove your hats and hoods before entering the building.  Also, please dress appropriately and leave your blankets at home.

 

Please remember to bring everything you need in the building with you in the morning.  Once you enter the building, you are here for the day.   Release to the parking lot for forgotten items is no longer permitted.

 

High school athletes:   If you brought a physical to school today, please bring it to the office.

 

Juniors – Please remember that your Exit Project rough draft proposal materials are due Tuesday, Nov. 14 by 3:15 p.m. to avoid a five-hour penalty.  You should give your senior advisor printed copies of the proposal form and the interview transcript, and you should e-mail your interview recording file to Ms. Augustine; please also remember to have your signatures in blue ink on the two forms.  See Ms. Augustine or look at the bulletin board in her room for more information. Seniors – If you are planning on presenting your Exit Project at the early bird date in December, you will have mandatory trainings on Tuesday, Nov. 14 and Thursday, Nov. 16 during first advisors.  On Tuesday, early bird seniors from Ms. Lindsey’s and Mrs. Miller’s advisors will report to Room 118 (Mrs. Miller’s room) for the reflective writing seminar, and early bird seniors from Ms. Milner’s and Mrs. Rottinghaus’s advisors will report to Room 109 (Ms. Milner’s room) for the portfolio preparation seminar. Congratulations to the JV Scholars Bowl team of Ethan McAnerney, Kalea Nippert, Abbi Clark, Keith Hancock and Gabe Roberts for going 7-3 and finishing third at the Wamego Scholars Bowl Invitational last Thursday.

 

Congratulations to the debate students for winning 3rd place at the Jeff West debate tournament on Saturday.  Winning medals were:  Stacie Elliott & Evan Hancock, 3rd place in the open division;

Reid Bissen & Marshall Fike, 5th place in the open division; Jarod Sandburg & Logan Streit, 4th place in the JV division; Haylee Hafenstein & Nick Gomez, 6th place in the JV division.  Congratulations to all!

 

 

The fall play is this weekend!  Come see Vaylnn, Brice, Kent, Abby and the rest as they try and figure out who is killing off the rest of the cast.  Mrs. Rottinghaus and her crew are serving a meal Friday night at 6:00 pm, and the show is both Friday and Saturday at 7:00 pm.  See posters for prices.  Come join in on the fun!
