Rhodes Wins State Science Fair Award
The Kansas State Science and Engineering Fair was held in Wichita on Friday, March 31. Numerous contestants who had placed highly at regional fairs were invited to participate. Students were divided into two divisions (4th - 8th Grades and 9th -12th Grades). Both divisions are then subdivided into categories related to their scientific/engineering field. Contestants spent Friday morning being interviewed by several judges who focus on the research performed, presentation of the data, and overall exhibit of the subject.
Ella Rhodes placed first in the Cellular and Molecular Biology category for Division II. Her project focused on a study of which nutrients cause a multicellular alga, Gonium pectoral, to become unicellular.
Congratulations to Ella!
