Kindergarten Teachers: Mrs. Schaake and Mrs. Kufahl

The Westmoreland Kindergarten put on a Thanksgiving play titled “The Turkey Hunt” on Friday the 18th of November. The program consisted of 31 children: Indians, Pilgrims and Five Big Fat Turkeys. Along with learning their individual parts they learned one song (Smells Like Thanksgiving), one poem (Thanksgiving Is Coming) and one chant (Turkey in The Barn Yard). Actors for the Indians boys were performed by: Eli, Jayden, Raefyn and Zander. Actresses for the Indian girls were performed by: Ella, Clara, Tyonna, Karlee, Ashlynne, Aviona, Hailey and Madi. Actors for the Pilgrim boys were performed by Coleman, Landyn P., Miles and Landon N. Actresses for the Pilgrim girls were performed by: Delayni, Violet, Madelyn, Kinley, Caitlyn, Tayler, Phoebe, Payten, Megsie and Chazlynn. The Five Big Fat Turkeys were Braxton, Skylar, Michael, Dean and Addi. When the play was completed, the students and teachers invited all that was in attendance to join in a small feast in the Kindergarten room. The feast consisted of banana bread, pumpkin bread, zucchini bread, and various kinds of cheese. The students made the pumpkin bread from scratch. They took a real pie pumpkin, cleaned, cooked and baked it to create pumpkin bread. The students, parents, family, friends and the Kindergarten staff (Mrs. Schaake, Mrs. Kufahl and Mrs. Fouts) all enjoyed the Thanksgiving feast.
