Google Drive: Share Links
If you need to share a large file (ie. a file too large to attach to an e-mail), you can use Google Drive to create a "share link". You can then e-mail the link to your recipient, and they can click the link and download your large file. Here's how to create a share link:
Go to https://drive.google.com and login with your school issued @rockcreekstudents.org Google account. Once logged in, click the "new" button and upload the file that you wish to share.
Click on the file you uploaded to highlight it, and then click the share link icon:
Click the slider in the upper-right corner to toggle sharing on, and then click on "sharing settings":
Click the drop-down arrow, and then click "More...":
Select the option "On - Anyone with the link", which will allow anyone you provide the link access without requiring them to sign in with a Google account. This is the easiest option for the person you are sharing your file with. Make sure the access is set to "can view", and then click "Save".
Lastly, click the button to "Copy link", and click Done. Now you can e-mail your share link to anybody and they will be able to download your file!
