Welcome to Rock Creek Jr-Sr High School

On behalf of the Rock Creek faculty and staff, welcome to Rock Creek Jr-Sr High School!  We strive to build positive relationships and create memorable experiences with our entire Rock Creek family. Each year, we look forward to serving our students, parents, and patrons of the Rock Creek District.

Rock Creek Jr-Sr High School is a rural, mid-sized Junior High-High School (grades 7-12) that serves the St. George and Westmoreland communities as well as surrounding agricultural areas.  Rock Creek and the communities of St. George and Westmoreland are both located within convenient driving distance of Manhattan.

Rock Creek strives to integrate technology throughout daily programming in all curricular areas.  A 7th-8th grade one-to-one iPad initiative was piloted in the fall of 2014.  Following success at the JH levels, Rock Creek opted to expand this one-to-one initiative to the 9th-12th grade levels beginning the fall of 2015.  In addition, our High School Journalism, Digital Multi-Media, and Design Technology classes will construct and utilize an on-site studio for the purpose of enhancing the already existing Rock Creek Cable Channel 141 (in cooperation with WTC Cable).

Previously named as a National Blue Ribbon School and more recently the #1 Kansas High School (all classes) by U.S. News and World Report, Rock Creek consistently prepares and graduates high performing, award winning students who are both career and college ready.  A unique and required Senior Exit Project that culminates a student’s four years of rigorous and relevant experiences into a final project and presentation is a time-tested tradition of the Rock Creek educational experience. The 2019 addition of a campus Industrial Technology facility and programming will aid us in continuing to work toward meeting the needs of all Rock Creek students and career paths.

Programming that focuses on preparing our students for all aspects of life includes outstanding programs in the arts (band, choir, theater, and the visual arts).  Rock Creek has consistently state ranked speech, debate, and forensics programs that have also competed at the national level.  Well organized and competitive academic clubs and organizations such as FFA, FBLA, FCCLA, Journalism/Yearbook, Scholars Bowl, and Robotics enhance an already rigorous and relevant curriculum.  Our academic coaches and sponsors are extremely dedicated to both their programs and the students they serve.

Rock Creek athletics are led by a team of coaches that focus on daily improvement, sportsmanship, and team play.  They prepare our young athletes for both joys and challenges in life after high school.  As a member of the perennially competitive Mid-East League, Rock Creek students and athletes are honored to compete against state-level athletic programs on a weekly basis in the areas of Cross Country, Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Wrestling, Baseball, Softball, and Track & Field.  Supporting all of our athletic programs is a year-round Strength and Conditioning program that focuses on health, wellness, strength, and conditioning.  This takes place in our recently constructed and dedicated facility.  Each year our student athletes experience multiple personal and team success in athletics which include regular appearances at KSHSAA state level events.

Rock Creek is proud of our dedicated and supportive faculty and staff.  We will continually strive to work with your child regarding their individual educational needs.  Our faculty and staff look forward to teaming with you, our students, parents, and community in creating the best high school experience possible for the students of Rock Creek Jr-Sr High School.
